Kemudian terjadi gempa susulan berkekuatan 5,0 skala richter. Gempa ini merusak bangunan atau merubuhkannya, dari perumahan Shantytown
Masil sulit melakukan evakuasi dan penyembuhan, namun jutaan warga di evakuasi dan ribuan lainnya di khawatirkan meninggal, dan tim penyelamat dari seluruh dunia sekarang ini menuju Haiti untuk membantu semampu mereka

Jakarta - Gempa yang mengguncang Haiti merupakan musibah terburuk yang pernah ditangani Perserikatan Bangsa Bangsa (PBB). Kerusakan infrastruktur diperkirakan melebihi tsunami yang menghancurkan Aceh tahun 2004 lalu.
"Ini bencana yang mengerikan. Sepanjang sejarah PBB, kami belum menemukan yang separah ini," ujar Koordinator Kemanusiaan PBB, Elisabeth Byrs, kepada AFP, Sabtu (16/1/2010).
Byrs mencatat setidaknya saat tsunami di Aceh, kantor pemerintahan masih ada yang berdiri. Tapi di Haiti, seperti di Kota Leogane, seluruh fasilitas publik hancur dalam gempa tersebut.
"Gempa ini seperti membunuh kota tersebut," terangnya.
Dari laporan tim PBB, sekitar 90 persen bangunan dan gedung di Leogane hancur akibat gempa 7 SR yang mengguncang Haiti, Selasa (12/1/2010) itu. "Tidak ada kantor pemerintahan yang tersisa," kisahnya.
Kondisi di kota-kota lainnya tidak kalah memprihatinkan. Banyak warga yang terkubur di reruntuhan bangunan dan belum bisa dievakuasi.
Saat ini tim SAR dari 27 negara yang berkekuatan 1.500 orang bersama 115 anjing pelacak masih mencari para korban yang selamat. Namun faktor lemahnya komunikasi, sulitnya transportasi dan kurangnya BBM menjadi penghambat operasi SAR tersebut.

Sejarah Tong San Cong / Xuan Chang
Tong Sam Cong pernah hidup di zaman Dinasti Tang (diperkirakan pada tahun 602 AD - 664 AD pada jaman dinasti Tang.
Tong Sam Cong dikenal sebagai Táng-sānzàng (唐三藏), yang memiliki arti Tang menunjukan identitas dirinya berasal dari negeri tang,
sānzàng (三藏) artinya 3 Ajaran Tripitaka.
Lahir di provinsi Henan Nama Aslinya adalah Chen Hui sebelum menjadi biksu, Anak ke 4 dari 4 bersaudara. Pada Tahun 611 AD ia bergabung dalam lingkungan Sangha, ia mempelajari aliran Theravada Mahayana. Pada Tahun 618 AD Pada saat Dinasti Sui runtuh Ia bergabung kedalam lingkungan Pemerintahan Dinasti Tang.
Xuanzang akhirnya melakukan perjalanan ke barat dengan seorang diri pada tahun 622 AD , pada waktu itu masa pemerintahan Kaisar Tang Tai zong (599–649 AD).
Ia memang pernah ke India, namun ia sendirian ke sana lewat jalan darat, jalan sutra yang
waktu itu telah mulai sepi karena digantikan oleh jalan sutra laut lewat
Selat Malaka. Pernah ditemani oleh seorang biksu lainnya, namun waktu
bertemu kawanan penjahat sekali waktu (Tong Sam Cong sering bertemu
kawanan penjahat), ia lari meninggalkan Tong Sam Cong sendirian
melanjutkan perjalanan ke India.
Tong Sam Cong bukan hanya seorang biksu, ia juga seorang pengelana yang
tidak kalah mashyurnya dari Marcopolo atau Cheng Ho. Juga seorang
sejarahwan yang tidak kalah pamor daripada Sima Qian. Begitulah kira2
pandangan orang Barat terhadap Tong Sam Cong.
Catatan sejarah harus dibedakan dengan novel fiksi. Catatan sejarah
Pada Tahun 626 AD. Xuan Zhang menyelesaikan bukunya yang berjudul "Catatan Perjalanan ke Barat Zaman Tang Raya" (Ta Tang Xi Yu Ji 大唐西域記), dalam buku ini mengambarkan keindahan jalur sutra, buku ini kemudian di terjemahkan dalam bahasa barat tahun 1857.
Xuan zhang Sendiri berhasil menerjemahkan dan membawa 657 Sanskrit text agama Buddha dari India. Dan menerjemahkan sekitar 1330 darma ke dalam bahasa mandarin.
Ini ditulis oleh biksu terpelajar (tidak banyak biksu yang mengecap
pendidikan di zaman itu) berdasarkan penjabaran lisan dari Tong Sam Cong
sendiri. Catatan ini kemudian dipersembahkan sebagai hadiah kepada
Kaisar Tang Taizong (Li Shimin).
Catatan sejarah ini berisikan 139 negara kecil-kecil yang disinggahi
oleh Tong Sam Cong dalam perjalanannya ke India, merupakan catatan
lengkap menuliskan tentang keadaan politik, geografi, masyarakat masing2
negara. Catatan ini sudah diterjemahkan ke dalam bahasa Perancis pada
tahun 1857, bahasa Inggris pada tahun 1884 dan berbagai bahasa lainnya.
India mengambil catatan ini sebagai acuan akademis mendalami sejarah
kuno di India di zaman Tang.
Dari segi novel Wu Cheng-en
Dalam Karakter Tong San Chong dalam novel ini ia di temani oleh 3 orang siluman dan sangat lemah, juga incaran bagi siluman lainya untuk memakan dagingnya untuk hidup abadi, dalam novel juga ia melakukan perjalanan ke barat. Dan setiap kali ia dapat masalah dan sering meminta bantuan Dewi Kwan Im atau Dewi Avalokitesvara.
Terutama masalah mengatur tingkah laku Sun Go Kong.
Nah, mengenai Sun Go Kong, Tie Pat Kay dan Sam Cheng, bertiga ini murni
fiksi ciptaan Wu Cheng-en. Ketiganya diciptakan sebenarnya untuk
mengkritik keadaan masyarakat pada zaman Ming, zaman Wu Cheng-en hidup.
Sun Go Kong melambangkan kesombongan, Tie Pat Kay kemalasan, tak dapat
menahan nafsu dan Sam Cheng kebodohan. Ada pula yang berpendapat bahwa
Wu Cheng-en menciptakan 3 karakter itu sebagai lambang gontok-gontokan
persaingan antara Taoisme, Konfusianisme dan Buddhisme di zaman Yuan dan
Ming. Sebagaimana diketahui, orang Mongol (Yuan) memanfaatkan persaingan
antara kelompok2 religius di Tiongkok untuk melanggengkan kekuasaan mereka.
Sejarah Novel Kisah perjalanan ke barat
Di Tiongkok ada sebuah novel kuno yang diketahui secara luas yakni "His-yu-chi" (Catatan Perjalanan ke Barat), selama beberapa abad, kisah hidup yang telah tersiar lama ini tetap abadi. Adalah Wu Ch'eng-en (th. 1500 - 1582), seorang penulis novel dan puisi terkenal pada Dinasti Ming (1368-1644) kelahiran Shan-yang, Huai-an (sekarang Provinsi Kiangsu, Tiongkok) yang menuliskan suatu kisah berdasarkan cerita perjalanan Hsuan-tsang dari bukunya Ta-T'ang Hsi-yu-chi. Kisah cerita ini kemudian menjadi terkenal dengan legenda Kera Sakti Sun Wu-khung (Sun Go Kong atau Sun Hou-zi). Novel ini diterbitkan pertama kali pada 1592, 10 tahun setelah kematian Wu Ch'eng-en.
Cerita legenda "Catatan Perjalanan ke Barat" tersebut terdiri dari 100 bab yang dapat dibagi atas tiga bagian utama. Bagian pertama dari tujuh bab menceritakan kelahiran Sun Go Kong dari sebutir telur batu dan memiliki kekuatan mahasakti yang tiada tandingannya sehingga mengacaukan kayangan yang kemudian diturunkan dari kayangan dan dikurung oleh Buddha Sakyamuni di dalam Wu-hsing-shan (Gunung Lima Unsur Alam) sambil menunggu pembebasannya oleh seorang biksu yang akan melakukan perjalanan ke Barat mengambil kitab suci. Bagian kedua berisi lima bab yang berkaitan dengan sejarah Hsuan-tsang dan tugas utamanya dalam melakukan perjalanan ke Barat. Sedangkan bagian ketiga yang berisi 88 bab sisanya menceritakan keseluruhan perjalanan Hsuan-tsang dengan ketiga muridnya yaitu Sun Go Kong, Chu Pa-chieh, dan Sha Ho-shang
Kisah Perjalanan ke Barat yang populer dengan legenda kera saktinya itu adalah merupakan suatu karya legenda China yang luar biasa dalam menggambarkan ajaran Buddha darma yang sulit dimengerti oleh rakyat di Tiongkok waktu itu. Legenda ini merupakan gambaran kisah perjalanan Hsuan-tsang dengan berbagai kesulitan dari seorang manusia yang selalu diliputi oleh berbagai keinginan dan keserakahan (diwakili oleh Chu Pa-chieh), kebodohan batin yang merupakan refleksi karakter manusia yang lemah dan selalu membutuhkan dorongan semangat (diwakili oleh Sha Ho-shang), kesombongan, keegoisan dan pikiran yang liar (diwakili oleh Sun Go Kong). Dia adalah kera nakal yang tak pernah diam. Selalu bergerak ke sana dan ke sini dengan begitu cepatnya. Kalau sudah tidak bisa dikendalikan oleh biksu Tong (Hsuan-tsang), maka akan diperingati terlebih dahulu, tapi kalau masih nakal maka akan dibacakan mantra pemberian Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva.
Sedangkan biksu Tong sendiri menggambarkan suatu kesadaran bahwa setiap tindakan akan ada akibatnya. Tidak kalah pentingnya adalah jubah yang dikenakan oleh biksu Tong, merupakan suatu simbol perlindungan kesucian dari sifat dasar manusia. Jubah ini dikisahkan banyak memberikan perlindungan kepada biksu itu dari segala gangguan siluman yang mencoba membinasakannya ataupun menggodanya. Sedangkan Pai-Ma (kuda putih) hanyalah merupakan pelengkap cerita saja dan tidak mewakili apa-apa.
Di dalam cerita perjalanan menuju ke Barat untuk mencari kitab Buddha di bawah lindungan oleh para dewa di langit ini, tidak sulit ditemukan bahwa masalah langit dan bumi mempunyai urutannya. Dewa pada tingkat yang tinggi mengurus Dewa tingkatan rendah dan Dewa tingkatan rendah mengurus dunia manusia. Siapa yang telah merusak urutan ini, akan menerima hukumannya. Sun Go Kong menganggap dirinya paling hebat, dan mengangkat dirinya sendiri sebagai dewa tertinggi, kemudian membuat keributan di istana langit. Prajurit dari langit juga tidak bisa berbuat apa-apa terhadapnya. Namun di hadapan Buddha, kecilnya bagaikan sebutir kelereng yang tinggal disentil dan meskipun mengeluarkan seluruh kemampuannya juga tidak akan bisa melepaskan diri dari telapak tangan Buddha. Setelah dibebaskan oleh biksu Tong, ia mengikuti perjalanan ke Barat mencari kitab suci sekaligus menebus karmanya.
Demikianlah karya sastra kuno yang berasal dari kehidupan pada zaman dahulu, memiliki makna nilai yang lebih dalam kehidupan, dan semua ini merupakan pengetahuan bersama secara umum. Dan yang membuat orang merasa takjub adalah bahwa pada zaman yang belum maju di masa itu, malah terdapat penuturan tentang "sehari di langit, setahun di bumi" dalam catatannya. Semua ini mungkin merupakan catatan karangan yang paling dini tentang pengetahuan manusia terhadap ruang dimensi lain alam semesta.
Dikarenakan ingatan manusia terbatas dan singkatnya kehidupan, maka demi untuk diketahui oleh anak cucu mengenai hal-hal orang dulu, lalu dituangkan dalam buku catatan. Orang-orang pada umumnya melihatnya sebagai sesuatu yang nyata pada catatan sejarah, namun menganggap bahwa ceritanya telah mengalami proses rekaan. Pada kenyataannya memang demikian adanya. Sebetulnya dalam catatan sejarah juga belum tentu mencatat masa lampau dengan yang sebenarnya, apalagi pada masa masa sekarang ini. Manusia dalam perjalanan sejarahnya yang panjang, telah berubah semakin rumit, kesadaran dan pemikirannya sesudah lahir bagaikan kotoran lama yang semakin ditumpuk semakin tebal, membentuk zat-zat hitam yang semakin lama semakin keras. Naluri dan watak pembawaan manusia yang polos dan baik, telah dibelenggu. Dan merupakan sesuatu yang logis dan masuk akal jika orang dengan berdasarkan keinginan, tekad dan tujuannya telah membuat roman sejarah.
Akhirnya lama kelamaan, tidak ada lagi orang yang percaya dengan hal-hal dahulu. Banyak sekali hal-hal di dunia manusia yang kelihatannya bukan berdasarkan keinginan orang, manusia hanya bisa mengkhayal, namun tidak bisa mewujudkan agar segalanya tercapai sesuai dengan yang diharapkan. Orang-orang sering kali mengungkapkan sebuah kalimat: "Segala sesuatu bisa dilakukan manusia, namun berhasil atau tidaknya tergantung oleh kuasa Tuhan.

Sun Go kong Memiliki Kekuatan Luar biasa, Bisa mengakut sebuah benda seberat 6750 Kg (13.500 jīn). Sun Go Kong adalah salah satu tokoh utama dalam salah satu novel klasik Tiongkok "Shi You Ji" "Perjalanan ke Barat" karya Wu Cheng-en pada masa Dinasti Ming yang kemudian populer selama berabad2 lamanya baik di dalam maupun di luar Tiongkok. Dalam novelnya itu, Wu terlihat lebih menekankan tokoh Sun Go Kong daripada tokoh sejarah asli Pendeta Xuan Zang (Tang San-zhang/Tong Sam-Cong) dapat dilihat dari penokohan Pendeta Tong sebagai seorang yang baik hati namun lemah. Padahal dalam sejarahnya, Pendeta Tong mengadakan ekspedisi sendirian yang dapat membuktikan ketegarannya. Walaupun di tengah jalan ia bertemu dengan seorang teman bernama Shih Pan Tuo, namun ia kemudian melarikan diri ketika mereka menemui kesulitan. Kesulitan yang dimaksud adalah perampokan oleh bandit2 di tengah jalan. Saya di suatu kesempatan menyimak tayangan tentang Pendeta Tong di channel Discovery. Oleh Discovery, Pendeta Tong difilmkan sedang dikejar2 oleh para bandit berparas Turkistan (Asia Tengah) sebelum akhirnya sampai ke India dalam satu penggal cerita.
Riwayat Sun Go Kong secara sekilas adalah tinggi badan 1.33 meter, pada umur 320 tahun ia menuju Gunung Hua Guo, menjadi dewa dengan gelar "Qi Tian Da Sheng" pada umur 357 tahun. 180 tahun kemudian, karena suka membangkang, ia dihukum ditimpa di bawah Gunung Wu Sing selama 500 tahun. Setelah itu, ia berguru kepada Pendeta Tong dan menjalankan perintah untuk mengawal Pendeta Tong mengambil kitab suci ke India. Ia dikisahkan adalah perwujudan dari sebuah kera batu.
Dalam perkembangannya, karena Sun Go Kong terkenal akan kesaktiannya, muncul opini bahwa Wu mengambil tokoh Sun Go Kong muncul dari inspirasinya atas cerita Ramayana dari India yang mana juga ada mengisahkan tokoh kera sakti Hanoman. Di dalam kalangan sastrawan Tiongkok sendiri juga terdapat pendapat yang mendukung opini ini, namun mayoritas menolak teori ini. Juga ada yang berpendapat bahwa Wu mendapat inspirasi dari Hanoman, namun Sun Go Kong kemudian digambarkan tanpa ada kaitan sama sekali denan Hanoman India.
Lu Xun (1881~1936) adalah Bapak Sastra Modern Tiongkok yang terkenal. Ia berpendapat bahwa Sun Go Kong adalah karya Wu yang mengambil inspirasi dari cerita karya Lee Gong-zuo yang hidup di zaman Dinasti Tang. Dalam novelnya berjudul "Gu Yue Du Jing", ia menceritakan tentang siluman sakti bergelar Huai Wo Shuei Shen yang akhirnya juga berhasil ditaklukkan oleh kekuatan Buddha. Setelahnya ia berganti nama menjadi Wu Zi Qi. Lu Xun berpendapat bahwa Wu Cheng-en mengambil tokoh Sun Go Kong atas modifikasi Wu Zi Qi. Lalu, sastrawan lain juga berpendapat bahwa tokoh Sun Go Kong adalah asli Tiongkok karena ada seorang pendeta yang juga terkenal di masa Dinasti Tang bergelar Wu Kong (Go Kong = Hokkian), nama asli Che Chao-feng.
Namun Hu Shi, sastrawan lain berpendapat bahwa Wu mengambil inspirasi dari Hanoman yang dikisahkan dalam cerita Ramayana. Karena ia berspekulasi bahwa tidak mungkin cerita Ramayana yang terkenal itu tidak sampai di Tiongkok. Jadi pasti ada pengaruh Hanoman pada karya Wu Cheng-en tadi. Ada pula sastrawan lain Ji Xian-lin yang berpendapat bahwa Sun Go Kong adalah Hanoman yang dimodifikasi menjadi Sun Go Kong tanpa ada kaitan sama sekali dengan Hanoman-nya sendiri kecuali sama2 merupakan kera sakti. Namun kera sakti Sun Go Kong jelas adalah perpaduan antara kepercayaan, cerita rakyat dan kreasi daripada penulisnya sendiri, Wu Cheng-en.

Sun Go Kong, adalah tokoh mitologi. Jadi tidak ada seorang tokoh Sun Go Kong benar2 hidup di dunia.
Pendeta Tong pergi mengambil kitab suci ke India sendirian. Ia pernah didampingi seorang lainnya, namun karena dihadang oleh sekelompok perampok, orang itu kemudian tidak berani menemaninya sampai ke India. Da Yu terkenal akan jasanya menjinakkan banjir di Tiongkok pada tahun 2200 SM. Wu Zi Qi ini berwujud seperti kera. Inilah yang dianggap orang2 menjadi ilham Wu Cheng-en untuk menciptakan karakter Sun Go Kong yang berwujud kera itu.
Jadi, Sun Go Kong adalah tokoh fiksi. Dan dewa semacam ini digolongkan dalam dewa-dewi yang berasal dari tokoh mitologi.
Sejarah Tong San Cong / Xuan Chang
Tong Sam Cong pernah hidup di zaman Dinasti Tang (diperkirakan pada tahun 602 AD - 664 AD pada jaman dinasti Tang.
Tong Sam Cong dikenal sebagai Táng-sānzàng (唐三藏), yang memiliki arti Tang menunjukan identitas dirinya berasal dari negeri tang,
sānzàng (三藏) artinya 3 Ajaran Tripitaka.
Lahir di provinsi Henan Nama Aslinya adalah Chen Hui sebelum menjadi biksu, Anak ke 4 dari 4 bersaudara. Pada Tahun 611 AD ia bergabung dalam lingkungan Sangha, ia mempelajari aliran Theravada Mahayana. Pada Tahun 618 AD Pada saat Dinasti Sui runtuh Ia bergabung kedalam lingkungan Pemerintahan Dinasti Tang.
Xuanzang akhirnya melakukan perjalanan ke barat dengan seorang diri pada tahun 622 AD , pada waktu itu masa pemerintahan Kaisar Tang Tai zong (599–649 AD).
Ia memang pernah ke India, namun ia sendirian ke sana lewat jalan darat, jalan sutra yang
waktu itu telah mulai sepi karena digantikan oleh jalan sutra laut lewat
Selat Malaka. Pernah ditemani oleh seorang biksu lainnya, namun waktu
bertemu kawanan penjahat sekali waktu (Tong Sam Cong sering bertemu
kawanan penjahat), ia lari meninggalkan Tong Sam Cong sendirian
melanjutkan perjalanan ke India.
Tong Sam Cong bukan hanya seorang biksu, ia juga seorang pengelana yang
tidak kalah mashyurnya dari Marcopolo atau Cheng Ho. Juga seorang
sejarahwan yang tidak kalah pamor daripada Sima Qian. Begitulah kira2
pandangan orang Barat terhadap Tong Sam Cong.
Catatan sejarah harus dibedakan dengan novel fiksi. Catatan sejarah
Pada Tahun 626 AD. Xuan Zhang menyelesaikan bukunya yang berjudul "Catatan Perjalanan ke Barat Zaman Tang Raya" (Ta Tang Xi Yu Ji 大唐西域記), dalam buku ini mengambarkan keindahan jalur sutra, buku ini kemudian di terjemahkan dalam bahasa barat tahun 1857.
Xuan zhang Sendiri berhasil menerjemahkan dan membawa 657 Sanskrit text agama Buddha dari India. Dan menerjemahkan sekitar 1330 darma ke dalam bahasa mandarin.
Ini ditulis oleh biksu terpelajar (tidak banyak biksu yang mengecap
pendidikan di zaman itu) berdasarkan penjabaran lisan dari Tong Sam Cong
sendiri. Catatan ini kemudian dipersembahkan sebagai hadiah kepada
Kaisar Tang Taizong (Li Shimin).
Catatan sejarah ini berisikan 139 negara kecil-kecil yang disinggahi
oleh Tong Sam Cong dalam perjalanannya ke India, merupakan catatan
lengkap menuliskan tentang keadaan politik, geografi, masyarakat masing2
negara. Catatan ini sudah diterjemahkan ke dalam bahasa Perancis pada
tahun 1857, bahasa Inggris pada tahun 1884 dan berbagai bahasa lainnya.
India mengambil catatan ini sebagai acuan akademis mendalami sejarah
kuno di India di zaman Tang.
Dari segi novel Wu Cheng-en
Dalam Karakter Tong San Chong dalam novel ini ia di temani oleh 3 orang siluman dan sangat lemah, juga incaran bagi siluman lainya untuk memakan dagingnya untuk hidup abadi, dalam novel juga ia melakukan perjalanan ke barat. Dan setiap kali ia dapat masalah dan sering meminta bantuan Dewi Kwan Im atau Dewi Avalokitesvara.
Terutama masalah mengatur tingkah laku Sun Go Kong.
Nah, mengenai Sun Go Kong, Tie Pat Kay dan Sam Cheng, bertiga ini murni
fiksi ciptaan Wu Cheng-en. Ketiganya diciptakan sebenarnya untuk
mengkritik keadaan masyarakat pada zaman Ming, zaman Wu Cheng-en hidup.
Sun Go Kong melambangkan kesombongan, Tie Pat Kay kemalasan, tak dapat
menahan nafsu dan Sam Cheng kebodohan. Ada pula yang berpendapat bahwa
Wu Cheng-en menciptakan 3 karakter itu sebagai lambang gontok-gontokan
persaingan antara Taoisme, Konfusianisme dan Buddhisme di zaman Yuan dan
Ming. Sebagaimana diketahui, orang Mongol (Yuan) memanfaatkan persaingan
antara kelompok2 religius di Tiongkok untuk melanggengkan kekuasaan mereka.
Sejarah Novel Kisah perjalanan ke barat
Di Tiongkok ada sebuah novel kuno yang diketahui secara luas yakni "His-yu-chi" (Catatan Perjalanan ke Barat), selama beberapa abad, kisah hidup yang telah tersiar lama ini tetap abadi. Adalah Wu Ch'eng-en (th. 1500 - 1582), seorang penulis novel dan puisi terkenal pada Dinasti Ming (1368-1644) kelahiran Shan-yang, Huai-an (sekarang Provinsi Kiangsu, Tiongkok) yang menuliskan suatu kisah berdasarkan cerita perjalanan Hsuan-tsang dari bukunya Ta-T'ang Hsi-yu-chi. Kisah cerita ini kemudian menjadi terkenal dengan legenda Kera Sakti Sun Wu-khung (Sun Go Kong atau Sun Hou-zi). Novel ini diterbitkan pertama kali pada 1592, 10 tahun setelah kematian Wu Ch'eng-en.
Cerita legenda "Catatan Perjalanan ke Barat" tersebut terdiri dari 100 bab yang dapat dibagi atas tiga bagian utama. Bagian pertama dari tujuh bab menceritakan kelahiran Sun Go Kong dari sebutir telur batu dan memiliki kekuatan mahasakti yang tiada tandingannya sehingga mengacaukan kayangan yang kemudian diturunkan dari kayangan dan dikurung oleh Buddha Sakyamuni di dalam Wu-hsing-shan (Gunung Lima Unsur Alam) sambil menunggu pembebasannya oleh seorang biksu yang akan melakukan perjalanan ke Barat mengambil kitab suci. Bagian kedua berisi lima bab yang berkaitan dengan sejarah Hsuan-tsang dan tugas utamanya dalam melakukan perjalanan ke Barat. Sedangkan bagian ketiga yang berisi 88 bab sisanya menceritakan keseluruhan perjalanan Hsuan-tsang dengan ketiga muridnya yaitu Sun Go Kong, Chu Pa-chieh, dan Sha Ho-shang
Kisah Perjalanan ke Barat yang populer dengan legenda kera saktinya itu adalah merupakan suatu karya legenda China yang luar biasa dalam menggambarkan ajaran Buddha darma yang sulit dimengerti oleh rakyat di Tiongkok waktu itu. Legenda ini merupakan gambaran kisah perjalanan Hsuan-tsang dengan berbagai kesulitan dari seorang manusia yang selalu diliputi oleh berbagai keinginan dan keserakahan (diwakili oleh Chu Pa-chieh), kebodohan batin yang merupakan refleksi karakter manusia yang lemah dan selalu membutuhkan dorongan semangat (diwakili oleh Sha Ho-shang), kesombongan, keegoisan dan pikiran yang liar (diwakili oleh Sun Go Kong). Dia adalah kera nakal yang tak pernah diam. Selalu bergerak ke sana dan ke sini dengan begitu cepatnya. Kalau sudah tidak bisa dikendalikan oleh biksu Tong (Hsuan-tsang), maka akan diperingati terlebih dahulu, tapi kalau masih nakal maka akan dibacakan mantra pemberian Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva.
Sedangkan biksu Tong sendiri menggambarkan suatu kesadaran bahwa setiap tindakan akan ada akibatnya. Tidak kalah pentingnya adalah jubah yang dikenakan oleh biksu Tong, merupakan suatu simbol perlindungan kesucian dari sifat dasar manusia. Jubah ini dikisahkan banyak memberikan perlindungan kepada biksu itu dari segala gangguan siluman yang mencoba membinasakannya ataupun menggodanya. Sedangkan Pai-Ma (kuda putih) hanyalah merupakan pelengkap cerita saja dan tidak mewakili apa-apa.
Di dalam cerita perjalanan menuju ke Barat untuk mencari kitab Buddha di bawah lindungan oleh para dewa di langit ini, tidak sulit ditemukan bahwa masalah langit dan bumi mempunyai urutannya. Dewa pada tingkat yang tinggi mengurus Dewa tingkatan rendah dan Dewa tingkatan rendah mengurus dunia manusia. Siapa yang telah merusak urutan ini, akan menerima hukumannya. Sun Go Kong menganggap dirinya paling hebat, dan mengangkat dirinya sendiri sebagai dewa tertinggi, kemudian membuat keributan di istana langit. Prajurit dari langit juga tidak bisa berbuat apa-apa terhadapnya. Namun di hadapan Buddha, kecilnya bagaikan sebutir kelereng yang tinggal disentil dan meskipun mengeluarkan seluruh kemampuannya juga tidak akan bisa melepaskan diri dari telapak tangan Buddha. Setelah dibebaskan oleh biksu Tong, ia mengikuti perjalanan ke Barat mencari kitab suci sekaligus menebus karmanya.
Demikianlah karya sastra kuno yang berasal dari kehidupan pada zaman dahulu, memiliki makna nilai yang lebih dalam kehidupan, dan semua ini merupakan pengetahuan bersama secara umum. Dan yang membuat orang merasa takjub adalah bahwa pada zaman yang belum maju di masa itu, malah terdapat penuturan tentang "sehari di langit, setahun di bumi" dalam catatannya. Semua ini mungkin merupakan catatan karangan yang paling dini tentang pengetahuan manusia terhadap ruang dimensi lain alam semesta.
Dikarenakan ingatan manusia terbatas dan singkatnya kehidupan, maka demi untuk diketahui oleh anak cucu mengenai hal-hal orang dulu, lalu dituangkan dalam buku catatan. Orang-orang pada umumnya melihatnya sebagai sesuatu yang nyata pada catatan sejarah, namun menganggap bahwa ceritanya telah mengalami proses rekaan. Pada kenyataannya memang demikian adanya. Sebetulnya dalam catatan sejarah juga belum tentu mencatat masa lampau dengan yang sebenarnya, apalagi pada masa masa sekarang ini. Manusia dalam perjalanan sejarahnya yang panjang, telah berubah semakin rumit, kesadaran dan pemikirannya sesudah lahir bagaikan kotoran lama yang semakin ditumpuk semakin tebal, membentuk zat-zat hitam yang semakin lama semakin keras. Naluri dan watak pembawaan manusia yang polos dan baik, telah dibelenggu. Dan merupakan sesuatu yang logis dan masuk akal jika orang dengan berdasarkan keinginan, tekad dan tujuannya telah membuat roman sejarah.
Akhirnya lama kelamaan, tidak ada lagi orang yang percaya dengan hal-hal dahulu. Banyak sekali hal-hal di dunia manusia yang kelihatannya bukan berdasarkan keinginan orang, manusia hanya bisa mengkhayal, namun tidak bisa mewujudkan agar segalanya tercapai sesuai dengan yang diharapkan. Orang-orang sering kali mengungkapkan sebuah kalimat: "Segala sesuatu bisa dilakukan manusia, namun berhasil atau tidaknya tergantung oleh kuasa Tuhan.

Sun Go Kong adalah salah satu tokoh utama dalam salah satu novel klasik Tiongkok "Shi You Ji" "Perjalanan ke Barat" karya Wu Cheng-en pada masa Dinasti Ming yang kemudian populer selama berabad2 lamanya baik di dalam maupun di luar Tiongkok. Dalam novelnya itu, Wu terlihat lebih menekankan tokoh Sun Go Kong daripada tokoh sejarah asli Pendeta Xuan Zang (Tang San-zhang/Tong Sam-Cong) dapat dilihat dari penokohan Pendeta Tong sebagai seorang yang baik hati namun lemah. Padahal dalam sejarahnya, Pendeta Tong mengadakan ekspedisi sendirian yang dapat membuktikan ketegarannya. Walaupun di tengah jalan ia bertemu dengan seorang teman bernama Shih Pan Tuo, namun ia kemudian melarikan diri ketika mereka menemui kesulitan. Kesulitan yang dimaksud adalah perampokan oleh bandit2 di tengah jalan. Saya di suatu kesempatan menyimak tayangan tentang Pendeta Tong di channel Discovery. Oleh Discovery, Pendeta Tong difilmkan sedang dikejar2 oleh para bandit berparas Turkistan (Asia Tengah) sebelum akhirnya sampai ke India dalam satu penggal cerita.
Riwayat Sun Go Kong secara sekilas adalah tinggi badan 1.33 meter, pada umur 320 tahun ia menuju Gunung Hua Guo, menjadi dewa dengan gelar "Qi Tian Da Sheng" pada umur 357 tahun. 180 tahun kemudian, karena suka membangkang, ia dihukum ditimpa di bawah Gunung Wu Sing selama 500 tahun. Setelah itu, ia berguru kepada Pendeta Tong dan menjalankan perintah untuk mengawal Pendeta Tong mengambil kitab suci ke India. Ia dikisahkan adalah perwujudan dari sebuah kera batu.
Dalam perkembangannya, karena Sun Go Kong terkenal akan kesaktiannya, muncul opini bahwa Wu mengambil tokoh Sun Go Kong muncul dari inspirasinya atas cerita Ramayana dari India yang mana juga ada mengisahkan tokoh kera sakti Hanoman. Di dalam kalangan sastrawan Tiongkok sendiri juga terdapat pendapat yang mendukung opini ini, namun mayoritas menolak teori ini. Juga ada yang berpendapat bahwa Wu mendapat inspirasi dari Hanoman, namun Sun Go Kong kemudian digambarkan tanpa ada kaitan sama sekali denan Hanoman India.
Lu Xun (1881~1936) adalah Bapak Sastra Modern Tiongkok yang terkenal. Ia berpendapat bahwa Sun Go Kong adalah karya Wu yang mengambil inspirasi dari cerita karya Lee Gong-zuo yang hidup di zaman Dinasti Tang. Dalam novelnya berjudul "Gu Yue Du Jing", ia menceritakan tentang siluman sakti bergelar Huai Wo Shuei Shen yang akhirnya juga berhasil ditaklukkan oleh kekuatan Buddha. Setelahnya ia berganti nama menjadi Wu Zi Qi. Lu Xun berpendapat bahwa Wu Cheng-en mengambil tokoh Sun Go Kong atas modifikasi Wu Zi Qi. Lalu, sastrawan lain juga berpendapat bahwa tokoh Sun Go Kong adalah asli Tiongkok karena ada seorang pendeta yang juga terkenal di masa Dinasti Tang bergelar Wu Kong (Go Kong = Hokkian), nama asli Che Chao-feng.
Namun Hu Shi, sastrawan lain berpendapat bahwa Wu mengambil inspirasi dari Hanoman yang dikisahkan dalam cerita Ramayana. Karena ia berspekulasi bahwa tidak mungkin cerita Ramayana yang terkenal itu tidak sampai di Tiongkok. Jadi pasti ada pengaruh Hanoman pada karya Wu Cheng-en tadi. Ada pula sastrawan lain Ji Xian-lin yang berpendapat bahwa Sun Go Kong adalah Hanoman yang dimodifikasi menjadi Sun Go Kong tanpa ada kaitan sama sekali dengan Hanoman-nya sendiri kecuali sama2 merupakan kera sakti. Namun kera sakti Sun Go Kong jelas adalah perpaduan antara kepercayaan, cerita rakyat dan kreasi daripada penulisnya sendiri, Wu Cheng-en.

Semua hal yang berbau seks selalu menarik perhatian lebih daripada hal lain. Di mana pun pada zaman apa pun, seks dan juga tulisan atau gambar yang bersangkutan dengannya konon akan selalu memukau manusia dan akan terus laku. Situs tentang seks yang dibuat resmi oleh sebuah pemerintah di Eropa bahkan diklik sejuta kali dalam sehari, selama tiga hari berturut-turut.
KALI ini, saya harus mengamini pendapat dari seorang wartawan senior, akhirnya. Di sebuah warung Tegal di Tebet, Jakarta Selatan, suatu siang bertahun-tahun yang silam di tengah hiruk pikuk antrean pembeli, kami menyaksikan sekelompok pekerja berdasi asyik berbincang soal video mesum mahasiswa Itenas dan mahasiswi Universitas Padjadjaran, Bandung. Sembari mengunyah makanan, mulut mereka bersuara, menimpali komentar kawannya. Kadang-kadang diselingi tertawa. Di depan mereka tergeletak sebuah surat kabar terbitan Jakarta yang dikenal laris dengan berita seks dan kriminal.
Wartawan senior itu lantas membuka percakapan. “Kamu tahu kenapa koran itu laku,” kata dia. Saya geleng-geleng kepala sambil terus makan. “Karena beritanya hanya soal seks dan kriminal,” kata dia. “Tempo dan Kompas tidak begitu tapi laku,” jawab saya. “Itu lain. Dua media itu telanjur punya nama besar dan pembaca fanatik, sama dengan Intisari,” jawab dia. “Lalu kenapa berita seks selalu menarik,” tanya saya. “Karena itulah naluri manusia. Andai Kompas dan Tempo juga menulis soal skandal seks dan skandal pembunuhan pastilah mereka akan lebih laku lagi,” jawab dia.
Saya hampir lupa dengan kepingan kejadian itu, hingga saya melihat respons terhadap tulisan saya soal Brisbane Sexpo 2008 di blog ini. Dua hari lamanya sejak saya posting Selasa kemarin, tulisan itu mendapat perhatian besar dari banyak orang. Rabu, hari ini, hanya dalam waktu 12 jam sejak jam 7 pagi, tulisan berjudul “Berfoto dengan Miss Porno Australia” itu bahkan sudah dibaca oleh 326 orang dari total 725 pengunjung (klik). Dan dilihat dari gejala statistiknya pembaca artikel itu kelihatan masih akan terus bertambah. Kemarin, tulisan itu dibaca oleh 120 orang dari total 695 pengunjung. Saya tak percaya tulisan itu bisa mendapat perhatian besar.
Timbul pertanyaan pada diri saya, mengapa berita Sexpo 2008 itu mendapat perhatian khalayak dan mengalahkan tulisan-tulisan saya yang lain, yang menurut saya justru lebih menarik dan perlu mendapat perhatian, seperti soal BLBI dan tentang penelitian ilmuwan IPB. Saya kemudian berinisiatif membuat semacam daftar penyebab untuk berita Sexpo 2008. Pertama, mungkin karena judul yang saya buat cukup provokatif sehingga memancing rasa ingin tahu para pembaca, kedua barangkali karena tulisan yang saya angkat dianggap sebagai sesuatu baru, dan ketiga jangan-jangan benar apa yang pernah dikatakan wartawan senior itu, bahwa manusia cenderung tertarik kepada hal-hal berbau seks. Di antara tiga pilihan itu, saya cenderung membenarkan kemungkinan ketiga: naluri manusia.
Alasan saya sederhana. Tulisan tentang Sexpo 2008 itu hanyalah berita biasa yang saya maksudkan agar pembaca blog ini mengetahui ada “sisi” lain dari kehidupan manusia di “luar” sana, yang mungkin sangat berbeda sama sekali dengan kehidupan para pembaca blog ini. Tak ada tulisan saya yang sengaja dibuat sedemikian rupa di artikel tersebut, untuk misalnya, memancing syahwat. Judul yang saya tuliskan, saya anggap juga cukup netral dan sangat biasa. Karena alasan itu, saya berkesimpulan, naluri manusia adalah faktor utamanya.
Dari sekian email yang masuk untuk mengomentari artikel itu, sebagian berasal dari para pembaca yang menurut saya, masih memegang “adat timur” kalau tidak mungkin disebut pembaca yang “taat beragama.” Di antara mereka bahkan ada yang menggunakan kata-kata yang bernuansa keagamaan. Namun seks ternyata bukan soal timur barat, beragama atau tidak karena terbukti, para pembaca itu masih tetap menyempatkan diri untuk membaca artikel yang mengandung kata kunci seks dan porno seperti tulisan tentang Sexpo 2008 itu. Apa yang bisa dikatakan dengan semua fakta itu, selain kemudian saya hanya bisa membenarkan pendapat senior saya bahwa semua itu didorong oleh naluri?
Dalam artikel berjudul “Mitos Seks dan Kesehatan Seksual” yang ditulis oleh Dr Sheilla dan dimuat di situs BKKBN, disebutkan bahwa seks adalah sesuatu hal yang selalu menarik untuk dibahas dan dibicarakan karena tidak dapat dimungkiri bahwa seks adalah salah satu kebutuhan dasar manusia. Bila mendengar kata seks biasanya akan timbul respons dan ekspresi yang bervariasi dari masing-masing individu. Namun kata dokter itu, walaupun termasuk kebutuhan dasar tak berarti semua orang mau membicarakan seks secara terbuka dan terang-terangan, karena dianggap tabu dan sangat pribadi. Di sisi lain banyak orang yang penasaran dan haus informasi tentang berbagai hal yang berkaitan dengan seks. Rasa keingintahuan yang besar ini mendorong masyarakat untuk mencari informasi dari berbagai sumber, baik itu dari teman-teman dekat maupun dari media-media lain.
Ada yang menyebutkan, penyebab manusia menyenangi seks berikut informasi tentangnya, karena seks adalah impuls manusia yang paling hewani. Karena sifatnya sangat mendasar, seks kata yang terdiri dari empat huruf itu, menjadi universal. Di mana pun pada zaman apa pun, seks dan juga tulisan atau gambar yang bersangkutan dengannya konon akan selalu memukau manusia dan akan terus laku. Pernyataan semacam ini, boleh saja dibantah dan tidak diikuti tapi bahkan penerbit-penerbit buku pun, rata-rata pernah menerbitkan buku soal seks. Di Indonesia misalnya, mulai dari Gramedia Gramedia Pustaka Utama, Kompas, Rosdakarya hingga penerbit-penerbit kecil pernah menerbitkan buku tentang seks dan terbukti laku.
Ambil contoh yang pernah dialami oleh Gagas Media yang pernah menerbitkan Malam Pertama, Sex On The Phone, dan Jakarta Undercover 2. Buku-buku itu ternyata laku keras. Menurut Rudy FX (Gagas Media), ditinjau dari apa pun, soal seks akan selalu menarik, baik dari sisi medis, sosial, moral, filsafat, dan sebagainya. Semakin dilarang dan ditutup-tutupi, kata dia, semakin membuat penasaran orang ingin tahu banyak (Lihat “Bertanya Seks pada Buku” Koran Tempo, 27 Mei 2005). Di luar negeri, jangan ditanya lagi.
Lalu lihat pula situs www.vrijlekker.nl yang dibuat oleh Badan Kesehatan Publik Belanda.
